Ghana giants Hearts of Oak capture top centre back Ali Mohammed

Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak have announced the signing of defender Ali Mohamed ahead of next season’s football campaign.

Mohammed joins the record Ghana FA Cup holders on a two-year deal from fellow top flight club Vision FC to bolster their backline for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign. The centre-back comes to the Phobians with a wealth of experience from the local game, having played for now defunct club AshantiGold, Accra Lions, Tamale City and Vision FC.

A club statement read: “We are pleased to announce the signing of Centre Back, Ali Mohammed from Vision FC. 2025-2027, welcome to the Phobia family.

Ali Mohammed becomes the 2000 CAF Champions League winners’ third signing after the arrival of Kwabe Owusu from GoldStars and Baba Adamu from Division One League club Golden Kick SC.

Hearts of Oak, who won the 2001 CAF Super Sup, placed fourth last season with 58 points, same as rivals Asante Kotoko and are now looking to augment their ranks for next term’s campaign.

They will battle fellow Premier League side Heart of Lions in the 2025 Homowo Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium on August 17, with the new signings expected to be available to audition for head coach Mas Ud Didi Dramani.
