Head coach of Heart of Lions, Bashir Hayford is looking forward to ending their four matches losing streak when they play Hohoe United in the final game of the first half of the Ghana Premier League season.
Heart of Lions will make the trip to their neigbours in a new local derby that will light up the Volta Region of Ghana on Friday, a game that comes with massive bragging rights.
Heart of Lions are yet to taste a win in as many as four matches, making their away trip to Hohoe a nervy one and coach Bashir Hayford shared some words on team preparation.
“The preparation has not been bad at all, we have prepared very well just that we have lost a number of matches so the morale went down. It’s our normal game that we are going to play. We need to take all three points and if we are not able to do so, it means we are still sinking down the league ladder.
Bashir Hayford admits that the game will be met with a tense atmosphere judging from the rivalry that comes with local derbies.
“Hohoe Township wouldn’t like Heart of Lions to win so it’s now a battle between two regional giants of Volta Region. It’s not going to be an easy match,” Bashir Hayford told Heart of Lions TV.
“Although we are struggling, it is getting to the end of the first round and we hope we will carry the day.
Hohoe United have incurred three straight losses against Basake Holy Stars, GoldStars and Berekum Chelsea and they will want to halt the bad feat with a win against Heart of Lions.
Heart of Lions are 8th on the league table with 23 points and Hohoe United have collected 17 points same as Dreams FC from 16 matches in 16th on the league table, one point below the relegation zone.
