Ghana Premier League: Hearts coach Didi Dramani reacts after Medeama loss

Head coach of Hearts of Oak Mas Ud Didi Dramani has reacted to their final game of the first half of the season against Medeama.

The Phobians had a fine opportunity to close the gap on Medeama but they fluffed it and eventually lost 1-0 to the Mauve and Yellow at the Tarkwa TnA Park on Sunday.

Medeama midfielder, Salim Adams, who once lifted the league and the FA Cup with Hearts of Oak, punished his former side with a 74th minute close range opener.

The defeat however did not go down well with Hearts of Oak coach Mas Ud Dramani who spoke after the match.

“I think that we don’t deserve to lose, we controlled the greater part of the game, they also had their moments and I think that they scored a very good goal,” Didi Dramani said after the game.

The former Ghana senior team assistant coach however picked some valuable lessons heading into the second half of the season.

“I think there are so many aspects of the game that you can be impressed with because you cannot control the game all the time.

“There will times when you need to control the moment when the opponent is in charge and I think that in that moment we gave away the ball and it resulted into this.

“For me I’m more responsible for the current situation and to deal with what is at stake and try to improve so many aspects of the team.”

The defeat kept Hearts of Oak in 5th on 28 points from 16 matches, one point adrift of Aduana FC.

One of the shockers of the week 17 fixtures was Asante Kotoko’s 2-1 loss at premier league returnees, All Blacks in Swedru.

However reigning champions, GoldStars moved into second on 32 points, two behind Medeama following a 3-2 win over strugglers Eleven Wonders at the Legon Sports Stadium on Sunday.
