Hearts of Oak and reigning champions GoldStars sold out a 2-2 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium in a Ghana Premier League week seven fixture on Sunday.

Hearts of Oak began the encounter with much energy, threatening GoldStars area with splitting passes but kept fluffing the final balls.
Hamza Issah could have opened the scoring in the third minute when he came face-to-face with GoldStars keeper Emmanuel Kobi but he sent his effort against the side net.
A well worked out free kick positioned Rocky Dwamena for a strike but his thunderbolt missed the upright by inches in the 15th minute. Hearts of Oak made a beautiful attack down the left side however Ransford Mensah’s cross was wasted by Mawuli Wayo in the 35th minute mark.
The 2000 CAF Champions League winners finally broke the deadlock in the 40th minute with Mawuli Wayo’s deflected shot went past Emmanuel Kobi in post for Gold Stars. The two minutes of added time exhausted the first half with Hearts of Oak walking chest high into the dressing room.
GoldStars returned for the second half looking better and that led to their equalizer in the 51st minute when Samuel Attah Kumi tapped in Razak Sanou’s assist.
The Phobians came closer moments later when keeper Emmanuel Kobi palmed out Ransford Mensah’s cross but Rocky Dwamena’s squandered the rebound.
GoldStars doubled their lead moments later with a quick break when Barimah Baah sent in a low cross for Samuel Attah Kumi to score his second in the 62nd minute. There was however a great response from Hearts of Oak when Ransford Mensah’s cross was headed in by George Paaku in the 70th minute to peg the game 2-2.
The encounter became a ding-dong affair with both sides chasing the winning goal but none could find the back of the net, ending the game at 2-2.
Hearts of Oak go on 13 points same as Gold Stars and Samartex after seven matches cleared so far.
