Hearts of Oak captain, Kelvin Osei Asibey is on cloud nine after their slim victory over Nations FC in their match day 14 of the Ghana Premier League on Saturday at the Legon Sports Stadium.
The Phobians had lost 2-0 in their previous fixture at Karela United, leaving the fans on the edge. Hamza Issah’s second half header was enough to give the record Ghana FA Cup holders all three points and Osei Asibey could not hide his joy after the victory.
“If you look at the last game we lost [against Karela United], our supporters are not happy at all so we came into this game to give our all for our supporters to be happy so this game has helped us and the supporters as well,” Kelvin Osei Asibey said.
“All the eighteen clubs are chasing the Ghana Premier League title so it’s like a marathon and we are all gunning for the ultimate and the final day of the season will determine the winner.
The victory moved Hearts of Oak level on 24 points with their Asante Kotoko after 14 matches in third on the league table.
The matchday 14 fixture between Bibiani Gold Stars and Medeama has been postponed following Medeama’s release of five players to the domestic-based Ghana national team for their international friendly against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on December 16.
