Ghana Premier League: Hearts forward Mawuli Wayo targets All Blacks scalp after Kotoko defeat

Hearts of Oak are looking forward to recovering from the painful 1-0 loss to rivals Asante Kotoko in the capital as they journey to Ghana Premier League returnees, All Blacks on Saturday.

The Phobians had not tasted a defeat prior to meeting Asante Kotoko but that record was halted in week nine at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ahead of their week 10 journey to Swedru against All Black Stars, forward Mawuli Wayo has stressed the need to chalk all three points.

Hearts of Oak forward Mawuli Wayo has assured supporters that players are determined to secure victory in their next Ghana Premier League match against Swedru All Blacks.

Hearts of Oak has learnt from the Kotoko defeat

“We learned a lot from the Super Clash. It was our first defeat of the season, and we had to learn from it before going into our next match. It was painful, but we realised that it’s gone and we have to focus on the next match. We want to improve in the final third

“Against All Blacks, we know they will come in hard. They are highly motivated, but we are going there to do our best to win the game,” Mawuli Wayo.

Hearts of Oak have 16 points, same as Samartex and reigning champions, Gold Stars after nine matches into the campaign.

Head coach of All Blacks, Ahmed Fathi has indicated his side’s readiness to give Hearts of Oak a good run for their money.

“We are ready for the next match and we have prepared our team very well and we are ready to compete in the game until the last minute,” FathI told All Black TV.

“There is no solution, we have to win this game and this is what we prepared [for] and this is what we will try to do.”

All Black Blacks have not started the season well, having collected a paltry seven points and sitting in 15th on the league table from nine matches.

The Week 10 fixture between Swedru Blacks and Hearts of Oak will kick off at 3:30 pm on Saturday, November 15. A win for the Phobians will get the team back on track as far as competing for the league title is concerned.
