Ghana Premier League club, Hohoe United have been busy on the transfer market and they have roped in the services of forward, Stephen Diyou.
Diyou was a mainstay in former Ghana FA Cup winners Nsoatreman before the dissolution of the club last year following the death of a football fan Francis Yaw Frimpong at their venue. He played a part in their CAF Confederation Cup where they failed to go past the second stage.
The 22-year-old signed a short deal with Nigerien top-flight side Sahel SC for the 2025/26 season but his stay will be short lived prompting a move to Hohoe United in a long term deal.
The newly promoted side announced on social media: “Stephen Diyou signs! The nimble-footed attacker joins the Warriors on a long-term deal from Nigerien top-flight side Sahel SC.Diyou was previously on the books of former Ghanaian club Nsoatreman FC.”
Stephen Diyou becomes the club’s fourth signing after Emmanuel Kyeremeh, Guinean left-back Mohamed Yorobo Bangoura and forward, Lawson Bekui joined the side last year.
Bangoura, 29 officially joined the club after spending over a decade in the Guinean top flight with teams like ASM Sangaredi, Satellites FC, Kaloum Stars, Horoya AC, Santoba, CI Kamsar, Teungueth and Milo FC. He agreed a one-year contract with an option to renew at the end 0f the ongoing 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Lawson Bekui, 31, signed for Hohoe United after years away in Europe and the Gulf region. He previously played his domestic football for Dreams fc in the Ghana topflight in 2016.
Hohoe United finished the first half of the season in 17th on the league table with 18 points from 17 games, a position that led to the sacking of their head coach Tijani Bashiru. Assistant coach Boniface Aypah has since taken temporary charge until a substantive coach is appointed.
The second registration window for the 2025/26 season was open on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, and it will close at 11:59 p.m. GMT on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
