Ghana Premier League: Hohoe United’s Kwame Paul rules out relegation fears

Ghana Premier League new boys Hohoe United have not posted the best of performances in the first half of the 2025/26 season.

With the first section of the season concluded over the weekend, Hohoe United have racked up a paltry 18 points after selling out a goalless draw at home to Heart of Lions.

Their unimpressive performance culminated in the sacking of coach Tijani Bashiru with just five months into his appointment.

Hohoe United defender, Nathanial Kwame Paul was adjudged Man-of-the-Match after Heart of Lions and he shared his thoughts on their survival.

“No I am not scared, we still have a lot of games to play and so we will keep working hard and we will come back stronger,” Kwame Paul said after their goalless draw at home to Heart of Lions.

Hohoe United sacked Tijani Bashiru with assistant coach Boniface Ayipah taking temporary charge until the appointment of a new coach.

A statement by the club announced earlier in the week read: “The board of Hohoe United Football Club and the club’s head coach, Bashiru Tijani have agreed to part ways. In the interim, the assistant coach Boniface Ayipah will steer the affairs of the club in an acting capacity until appointment of a substantive coach.”

Hohoe United sit in 17th on 18 points and have gone four straight games without a win, incurring three defeats and one draw after the first half of the season.
