Ghana Premier League: Ibrahim Tanko aims for consistency against Young Apostles

The second half of the Ghana Premier League will begin for leaders Medeama SC who host a rejuvenated Young Apostles at the Tarkwa TnA Park on Sunday.

The Mauve and Yellow posted a sterling performance in the first half of the season, going fourteen matches without a loss, a record that keeps them at the top of the league log with 34 points from 17 games.

Ahead of the fixture at home Young Apostles who sit in 10th on 21 points from 17 games, Medeama coach, Ibrahim Tanko discussed preparations and the need to claim three points.

“We are preparing like any other game, we beat them in the first round but definitely after our last game I think they have gone six or seven games without a loss so they have regained their confidence so but we are playing at home [and] we want to control the game, we want create chances and if possible keep the three points here,” Ibrahim Tanko told MEDi TV.

Midfielder, Manuel Mantey was in line to analyze the game against Young Apostles.

“You will be seeing the same performance in this game because we need these points at all costs,” Manuel Mantey told MEDi TV.

“This season our target is aiming for the league title and the FA Cup also and my personal target is to help the team grow and win more titles.”

Medeama won 2-0 in the first half of the season at Young Apostles and their 34 points keeps them two points above reigning champions GoldStars who travel to Bechem United on Sunday. Young Apostles share 21 points with Vision FC in
