Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has reacted to their slim victory over Dreams fc in their match day 14 of the Ghana Premier League On Sunday.
Asante Kotoko had gone four matches without a win and coach Karim Zito is a relieved man after ending the jinx at the Baba Yara Stadium.
“I think we went four matches [and] we couldn’t beat anybody. We created a lot of chances but putting the ball into the net is our biggest problem, we couldn’t stay focused,” Karim Zito said.
“You can see that we are playing but the goals are not coming but this match was supposed to be an important match because I wanted to break the jinx of not winning in four matches.
Asante Kotoko had picked just two points from their last four matches prior to meeting Dreams FC and Kwame Opoku’s late strike separated the two sides much to the relief of their fans.
The win shot Kotoko into third on the league with 24 points, same as rivals Hearts of Oak who defeated Nations FC 1-0 at the Legon Stadium on Saturday.
The matchday 14 fixture between Bibiani Gold Stars and Medeama has been postponed following Medeama’s release of five players to the domestic-based Ghana national team for their international friendly against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on December 16.
