Asante Kotoko’s quest to climb into the top five of the Ghana Premier League was jolted by Aduana FC in their week 10 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
Aduana, who are two time Ghana champions stunned the tiny home fans in the first half through Emmanuel Marfo’s close range tap-in.
The Porcupine Warriors were however relentless and their search for the equalizer came from Lord Amoah whose ferocious strike outside the penalty area calmed the home fans.
Head coach of Kotoko, Karim Zito was not a happy man despite rescuing a home point.
“I’m not satisfied but I can’t blame anybody because when you look at our three previous games, you will see a lot of changes in this game because of injuries,” Karim Zito said.
“When you look at the first half, we couldn’t put passes together so if I tell you I’m ok, I’m not because in our quest to win the league, we should win all home matches.
The experienced trainer is however looking forward to an improved performance in Asante Kotoko’s subsequent games.
“So it’s another debt to go away and win but at the end of the day this is what comes and there is nothing you can do. “I prefer winning one of these two matches rather than to [get] two draws but in another way we are yet to lose a game but in terms of points, losing one and winning one is better.”
The two time African chamapions remain the only club yet to taste a defeat in the current campaign despite struggling for form. The Porcupine Warriors moved a step up into sixth on 16 points from eight games with two outstanding matches to play.
