Head coach of Asante Kotoko Karim Zito has attributed lack of patience to their goalless draw against Samartex in their week 11 Ghana Premier League fixture on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors remain the only club yet to taste a defeat in the current campaign and needed a win to climb into the top four but Samartex kept them at bay.
Samartex had a perfect opportunity to end Kotoko’s unbeaten run but Guinean goalkeeper Mohamed Camara saved a penalty to peg the game at 0-0 in full time and Kotoko head coach, Karim Zito shared some words after the game.
“When you look at both teams, we were not patient. We were all trying to go and score so it caused us to spoil a lot of chances but it was a big match and tough test for both teams,” said Zito.
“Coming here to play [against] Samartex is not easy, you can do everything with Samartex in Samreboi. I knew it will be very tough so I told my boys to be very tough so that at least even if we don’t win, we come out unscathed.
“When you look at the game, our target man [Morifing Donzo] is yet to adapt and we need another tough defensive midfielder and then I may need a right-back so definitely every club in the world when the season ends you add one or two players to beef up the squad.”
Asante Kotoko currently sit in fourth on the league table with 20 points from nine matches and they will clear their week 3 outstanding fixture against Holy Stars at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park on Wednesday, November 24.
