Asante Kotoko’s confidence was bruised last weekend when they suffered a 1-0 loss against rivals Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium in week 22 of the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors are away to Young Apostles in week 23, a game head coach Prince Owusu describes as “difficult.”
“We all know we are in a difficult times and those guys to if you paid attention to their result last weekend, I think they lost so they are going home to redeem themselves back and we are also going out there to make sure we get the three points,” Prince Owusu told Kotoko TV.
“So it’s not going to be an easy test for us but I think the boys are ready for it so we will try to deal with it and come out with three points.
Asante Kotoko sit in 6th on the league table with 35 points, nine behind leaders Medeama with Young Apostles in 16th on 27 points from 22 league game.
In another interesting fixture, Heart of Lions will host reigning champions GoldStars at the Kpando Stadium on Sunday and head coach of Heart of Lions Bashir Hayford says the team is prepared for the challenge.
“We started last week and we are preparing very well [because’ we know it is going to be a hard nut to crack but we are still preparing very well [and] as you can see everybody is geared up, everybody is prepared and I think the morale in camp is very high and so we are preparing as we prepare for all the matches,” Bashir Hayford told Heart of Lions TV.
