Former Ghana international Matthew Amoah has taken a different step in his career, joining the technical team of his former club NAC Breda.
Amoah who played for the Black Stars at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, joins the backroom staff of the Dutch Eredivisie strugglers alongside former teammate Anouar Diba.
Both club legends have their work description cut out for them as they will focus on developing and training the team’s forwards and attacking unit with the club targeting survival.
NAC Breda’s technical director, Peter Maas said: “With the addition of Matthew and Anouar, we’re adding specific expertise to the current coaching staff.
“Both have been doing excellent and focused work with our youth players at the NAC Youth Academy for quite some time, and they’ll now do the same with the first team.”
The Dutch side currently sit at the bottom of the Eredivisie table with 13 points from 17 matches in the 2025/26 season.
Amoah who played for NAC between 2007 and 2011, scored 57 goals and provided 12 assists in more than 130 appearances. Diba, born in the Netherlands but represented Morocco, made over 120 appearances for the club between 2002 and 2007, contributing 20 goals and 20 assists.
