Ghana Premier League leaders Medeama Sporting Club have extended the contract of their number one goalkeeper, Felix Kyei for two more years.
The Ghana senior team B invitee has signed a new contract with the Mauve and Yellow that will extend to 2029. Felix Kyei initially joined Medeama from Karela United in January 2023 until 2027.
However his impressive performance pushed the former Ghana Premier League champions to extend his stay at the club with the announcement made on Friday, November 21.
“Medeama Sporting Club is delighted to announce that first-choice goalkeeper Felix Kyei has signed a two-year contract extension, committing his future to the Mauve and Yellow until January 2029.
“The club believes that securing the spine of the squad is essential for sustained success, and extending Felix Kyei’s contract is a significant step toward that vision.
“Medeama SC congratulates Felix on his new deal and looks forward to achieving greater heights together,” the club added in its statement.
The new deal means the goalkeeper is set to stay in Tarkwa for six years. He played a key role for Medeama SC in the club’s historic 2022/2023 Ghana Premier League title triumph.
His exceptional performances helped propel the team into its maiden CAF Champions League campaign, where they went on to reach the group stage of Africa’s elite inter-club competition.
The week 11 matches begin on Saturday where joint leaders Medeama SC will host Bechem United at the Tarkwa TnA Park.
