Ghana Premier League: Medeama’s Salim Adams on cloud nine after Hearts win

Medeama midfielder produced a fine display, scoring the only goal that gave his side a 1-0 win over his former club Hearts of Oak in the week 17 fixture of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The 23-year-old had a fruitful journey with Hearts of Oak, winning the league and the FA Cup under coach Samuel Boadu. He however struggled to find his feet after returning from a brief spell at MLS Next Pro side, FC Cincinnati II.

The lanky midfielder was given a lifeline by Medeama where he has played 13 out of 17 matches for the Mauve and Yellow. He scored the decisive goal against Hearts of Oak that kept them at the summit of the table after the final round of matches of the first half of the season.

Salim Adams who previously played for Ghana’s second tier side New Edubiase has set sight on winning the Ghana Premier League with Medeama at the end of the season.

“And next week we return for the second half of the season. All we need is the three points.”

Medeama’s win over Hearts of Oak made it 14 games without a defeat, keeping them at the top on 34 points, two better than reigning champions GoldStars after 17 games.
