Medeama SC’s quest to increase their points on top of the Ghana Premier League table was rattled by Samartex on Saturday.
The two time FA Cup winners went down in the 37th minute when Samartex’s Awuah Dramni fired them ahead from half of the field at the Tarkwa TnA Park. Medeama however left it late to pull level after mounting an incessant pressure on the visitors finishing the game at 1-1 in full time.
Medeama head coach, Ibrahim Tanko reflected on the result that takes them to 13 points in six games.
“I think the first half was not really good from us, we didn’t keep the ball very well and I think second half we were better and we had the chances that we could score but we couldn’t and I hope that we will learn from this one.
“I mean the league is too long and as I said you will meet these kind of games and you have to keep going,” Ibrahim Tanko said.
“They didn’t create a lot [of chances] and we created but we couldn’t score so we hope that next week will be better.”
The Mauve and Yellow are still rooted at the top of the table with the remaining week six matches to be cleared on Sunday and Monday.
In another fixture on Saturday, Dreams fc claimed their first ever victory in six matches after producing a 2-0 win over Nations FC at the Tuba AstroTurf.
