Ghana Premier League: Aduana sink Dreams FC to go top

Aduana FC left it very late in the game to beat Dreams fc by 1-0 in match day seven of the Ghana Premier League at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Saturday.

Aduana goalkeeper, Prince Osei saved an important situation for the side after sweeping away a splitting pass from Dreams that saw three players racing for the opportunity in the 34th minute. Neither club found the net as they walked into the dressing for technical pep-talks.

Aduana rekindled their second half with early incursions into Dreams fc area. They won a free kick which saw Adomako Boateng sweep one into Dreams FC penalty area but Emmanuel missed the scoring chance by the thread in the 49th minute.

Dreams fc however regained control of the game momentarily with strong tackles in midfield and long balls into Aduana’s area yet struggled to find the back of the net.

The home side, who were spurred on by the fans, threatened Dreams’ area however red-hot striker Emmanuel Marfo fired a perfect opportunity inches above the crossbar in the 55th minute. Both clubs struggled to put a fine finish on their final balls making scoring almost impossible.

Mezack Afriyie came close to opening the floodgates for Aduana, however his header from Adomako Boateng’s perfect long range pass rattled the crossbar in the 70th minute with Dreams fc clearing their lines in the process.

Substitute, Daouda Ben Sidibe fired Aduana into the lead with a close tap-in from Emmanuel Marfo’s sumptuous assist after a well worked out attack down the left side of the pitch in the 85th minute. It was the first goal for the Burkinabe import since moving from Medeama SC to Aduana Stars.
