Ghana Premier League: “Asante Kotoko will come back stronger” – Samba O’Neil

Asante Kotoko huffed and puffed heavily to squeeze a draw at home against Medeama in their week 12 Ghana Premier League fixture on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors went down by two quick first half goals from Derick Fordjour’s strike and Yussif Mubarik’s penalty.

The record Ghana Premier League holders fought back tirelessly in the second half to pull level through Peter Amidu Acquah and captain Samba O’Neil.

O’Neil who rose above an array of Medeama defenders to head home Lord Amoah’s free kick, expressed delight in contributing to Kotoko’s drawn game.

Samba O’Neil has been instrumental for Asante Kotoko

“Glad I could contribute a goal, but the result is all that matters,” he wrote on Facebook.

“We learn from this and come back stronger. The focus is now on the next game. Huge thanks to my fans , you are my anchor.”

Asante have gone two matches without a win after their unbeaten streak was halted last Wednesday in a 2-1 loss at Basake Holy Stars.

The two time African champions stay in 5th on 21 points same as their rivals Hearts of Oak after 12 league games.
