Ghana Premier League: “It’s early to discuss winning the title” – Asubonteng

Hearts of Oak supporters have begun calling the club to go all out and win the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title but mercurial midfielder Enoch Asubonteng has called for patience with three matches played this campaign so far.

The Phobians are yet to lose a game in three opening encounters – drawing goalless at home to debutants Hohoe United before recording two wins, beating Dream FC and Eleven Wonders by 1-0 respectively in weeks two and three.

Notwithstanding the impressive performance, forward, Asubonteng believes it is too early to discuss their chances of winning the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title.

“It’s too early to talk about the title,” the midfielder said.

“There are so many games left, and other clubs have also shown they will be very competitive this season. We are determined to fight and make our fans proud, but right now our focus is only on taking it game by game,” he added.

Esubonteng, who joined the Phobians from WAFA, scored the only goal that gave the 2004 CAF Confederation Cup champions the 1-0 win over Eleven Wonders in week three at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts of Oak will hope to maintain their impressive start when they travel to play Bechem United in the Matchday 4 games at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park this weekend.
