Head coach of Berekum Chelsea, Samuel Boadu has set an audacious target of winning the domestic double next season.
The young yet experienced tactician led giants, Hearts of Oak to five trophies in two seasons including a domestic treble in the 2020-21 campaign.
His major move after leaving Hearts of Oak was signing for former champions, Berekum Chelsea in 2024 – leading them to a 12th place finish on 44 points from 34 games last season.
The former Medeama SC trainer revealed his ambition of lifting the domestic double.
“My target this season is to win both the GPL title and the FA Cup. However, at the very least, we want to finish within the top six.”
“I seriously need the FA Cup because Chelsea have won the league before, but the FA Cup is still missing. It’s something I want us to achieve this season.”
The Blues will open their 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign against FA Cup champions, Asante Kotoko at the Golden City Park on Saturday September 12.
Samuel Boadu reacted to that tough fixture: “We know it will be a difficult game. Anytime we host Kotoko here it turns out to be tough, but we are ready for them,” he said.
Berekum Chelsea won the Ghana Premier League in 2010, reaching the group stage of the CAF Champions League that season.
