Asante Kotoko striker, Albert Amoah has reacted to their opening day victory against Berekum Chelsea in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League on Saturday.
Amoah’s 80th minute strike from a fast break earned the Porcupine Warriors three points, breaking a long standing jinx of having not won at the Golden City Park since 2010.
The 23-year-old was left on cloud nine after netting his season’s opener for the record Ghana Premier League holders.
“We are very happy because we knew it will be a very difficult game but the boys were determined to win all the three points,” Albert Amoah said.
“The win will also spur us on in the CAF Confederation Cup [against JS Kabylie] at the Accra Sports Stadium.
“With hard work we will be able to achieve anything so we are still working hard to ensure that we achieve what we have to achieve.”
Amoah will lead Kotoko’s attack when they kick start their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round against Algeria’s JS Kabylie at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday September 21.
