The Ghana Premier League title race is gradually rising to a crescendo with five matches remaining to draw the curtains down on the 2024/25 season.
The top four positions did not change over the weekend after league leaders, Gold Stars failed to increase their points from 53 after losing 2-0 at Vision FC on Sunday. Nations FC, who are seated second, lost 1-0 at Berekum Chelsea with Heart of Lions and Asante Kotoko who were on 47 points apiece, recorded wins to go on 50 points.
The point’s difference among the four is two between Gold Stars, 52 and second placed Nations 51 going into crunch week 30 encounter next weekend. Notwithstanding the slim points’ gap, head coach of Gold Stars, Frimpong Manso believes they are still on course to winning the league title.
“We have four games left, three of them at home. We know it won’t be easy, but we’re motivated to push harder,” he said after the game.
“Even for the away game, we’ll fight for something. We’re still on course to win the league,” he added.
Bibiani GoldStars will aim to return to winning ways when they host struggling Karela United at the Dun’s Park on Sunday in the Match day 30 games.
