GoldStars will turn their attention to the CAF Champions League after dispatching Bechem United in week 1 of the domestic top flight on Sunday.
The Ghana Premier League champions defeated the Hunters by 2-1 at the Duns Park, a win that boosts their confidence ahead of their continental campaign against Algeria side, JS Kabylie.
Head coach of GoldStars, Desmond Frimpong Manso has reflected on the challenges that comes with combining the domestic competitions and the continental campaign.
“Combining the league with Africa normally comes with challenges, just we have finished a game today [against Bechem United], we are heading to Accra to prepare for Africa,” Frimpong Manso told the media.
“We thank the fans for giving us the support [against Bechem United] and we hope they will come to support us for the CAF Champions League.”
GoldStars will open their campaign against JS Kabylie in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday September 20 with the reverse fixture set for the Hocince Ait Ahmed Stadium a week later.
