GoldStars will host Medeama SC in a delayed week 14 Ghana Premier League fixture on Wednesday, a game that will see the winner topple Asante Kotoko from the summit.
Medeama have 30 points from 15 games with Asante Kotoko leading the log on superior goals difference of 14 from 16 matches.
GoldStars share 28 points with Hearts of Oak in 4th with a possible victory shooting them to 31 points. However a likely win for Medeama brings them to 33 points, a permutation that makes the fixture dicey at the Duns Park at 3:00pm GMT.
Head coach of Medeama, Ibrahim Tanko shared some words on the game in a pre-match press conference.
“We have to think about our own game first. If we get a point or three over there definitely we will come on top of them so definitely we have to concentrate and focus on the outcome of the game, we are not thinking about Kotoko, we are thinking about GoldStars,” Tanko said in his pre-match interview.
Medeama made it 12 games without a loss after a 1-0 win at new boys Hohoe United last weekend and Ibrahim Tanko expressed joy at the feat chalked so far with two matches to end the first half of the season for the Mauve and Yellow
“The feeling is good, going 12 games unbeaten in the Premier League with all these good clubs. I think we did very well here.
“I think we played as a team. I have always said that when we play as a team, we can face any side, home or away and I think the boys did very well and we were very disciplined on the day and we took our chances only that Kingsley Braye didn’t have the second goal but I think in all the three points were very important for us.
Medeama’s last game of the first half is at home to Hearts of Oak with GoldStars away to strugglers Eleven Wonders at the Legon Sports Stadium on Sunday January 4.
