Head coach of Heart of Lions, Bashir Hayford, has set his sights on finishing the 2024/25 campaign on a high note.

The Kpando-based team will look to dent the title hopes of joint league leaders Nations FC when they clash at the Dr. Kyei Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, June 8.

Hayford says his team has prepared well for the game and will aim for a win to finish the season in the top four.

“It’s our last game, and we are preparing to go and finish the league, so we will see where we will be in the league table at the end of the season. We were in contention for the top — maybe for the league title. As it stands now, we are aiming for the top four.

“We want to make sure that if we don’t win the league title, we finish in the top four and then give ourselves another title race [next season],” Hayford told Heart of Lions TV in his pre-match interview.

Lions currently sit fourth in the Ghana Premier League standings with 57 points. A defeat to Nations FC, combined with a Hearts of Oak win against FC Samartex, would see the Kpando-based club drop out of the top four.
