The first half was characterized by massive aggression with both clubs exerting a lot of energy in search of the opening goal.
A miscommunication between Kelvin Osei Asibey and keeper Solomon Agbasi nearly put Aduana ahead however Agbasi made a sharp turn into his post to save Patrick Mensah’s strike to keep Hearts of Oak in the game in the 18th minute.
The Phobians quickly turned defence into attack with Martin Karikari coming close to scoring for Hearts of Oak but his header missed the post by a whisker in the 27 minute.
Mawuli Wayo robbed Hearts of Oak of a glorious scoring chance three minutes later after slaloming past a plethora of Aduana defenders then he blew wide his final effort much to the shock of the supporters.
Hearts of Oak’s second half looked impressive with Hamza Issah and Mawuli Wayo taking turns with some shots and Aduana equally coming through with flashes of incursions but both attacks ended in futility.
Hearts of Oak were left off the hook when Solomon Agbasi palmed Aduana’s attacking midfielder, Charles Kamara’s glancing header, a save that drew fans’ applause in the 80th minute.
Aduana managed to hold their guns to end the game goalless with the result keeping them on top of the league table with 28 points while Hearts of Oak share the 5th spot with reigning champions Gold Stars on 25 points after match day 15.
