Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has reacted to their 2-0 victory over Legon Cities in the penultimate Ghana Premier League match on Sunday.
The Phobians, who are gunning for a top four finish, nailed the already relegated side with just a game remaining to draw the curtains on the season.
Ouattara said: “It’s a difficult team because we knew this team has good ball possession and that’s why they didn’t run too much to be tired. The important thing in football is the goal and we got two, it’s not bad but let us congratulate Legon Cities despite relegation...they have the team."
“We know this season, this team is playing well and they have players who are playing well and we also came with our strategy to score and take the maximum three points. That was our objective today, we got it and we are happy and we focus on the next match,” Ouattara said after the match.
The victory marks four games without a loss for the Phobians - drawing goalless with Kotoko before dispatching Berekum Chelsea, Accra Lions and Legon Cities.
The record FA Cup holders now sit 5th on the league table with 55 points from 33 matches this season. Their final game is at home to Samartex on Sunday, June 8.
