Former Hearts of Oak striker Wisdom Abbey has charged the current players to “die a little’ for their fans as they prepare for their derby clash against Kotoko.
The Phobians will host their sworn rivals at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, May 4 in a week 30 of the Ghana Premier League. After a roller coaster performance this season, they are sitting in 6th on the league table with 45 points from 29 matches. Asante Kotoko on the other hand are 3rd on the log on 50 points same as Heart of Lions.
Wisdom Abbey spoke to Radio Gold: “They should just go and play. They should just die a little for the supporters. What they are doing on the field of play is somebody’s life."
“They should just focus on the field and just play good football on the pitch,” Wisdom Abbey told Radio Gold Sports.
Asante Kotoko are chasing the league title with Hearts of Oak looking to claim three points to keep their dream of finishing in the top four at the end of the season.
