In an evenly matched first half encounter, both clubs failed to register a shot on target at the Accra Sports Stadium much to the chagrin of their teeming fans.
Hohoe United created the biggest scoring chance of the first department of the match when
Ganiu Abbas came close to finding the lead but his pinpointed header was parried to corner kick for the visitors in the 27th minute.
The first half ended barren leaving both coaches heading back to the drawing board for tactical adjustments. The first quarter of the second half was not really different from the first with Hohoe United holding their guns, keeping the Hearts of Oak attackers at bay.
Hohoe United were however dealt a huge blow when defender Solomon Adomako was sent off for a second yellow card offence in the 67th minute. The numerical disadvantage helped Hearts of Oak to exert their superiority over the debutants but they still could not register the opener.
The spoils were shared in Matchday 1 with the remaining matches set to be cleared on Saturday and Sunday.
