Ghana Premier League: Hearts of Oak’s Abdul Karim sets target for unbeaten run

Hearts of Oak midfielder Abdul Karim indicated that the Phobians are aiming for a five-match unbeaten run in the current Ghana Premier League campaign.

Hearts are yet to lose a game in three outings this term – selling out a goalless draw at home to debutants Hohoe United at the Accra Sports Stadium in week one before sealing 1-0 victories against Dreams FC and Eleven Wonders in the two subsequent fixtures.

With seven points garnered from those three matches, the record FA Cup holders are bent on collecting victories from their next next two games according to Abdul Karim.

“Preparation has been good and every player is preparing to give his all against Bechem United,” he told Hearts TV.

“The feeling is good in camp and I’ve said that, we have a target of going five matches unbeaten and we are on course to achieving that feat, we are left with two matches and we hope to achieve that.”

“I feel very sad in our first match because Hearts of Oak is a big club and when you play a draw game it is as if you have lost the game. It’s always about winning and so we spoke to ourselves and that is why the wins have started coming,” he added.

Hearts of Oak will travel to the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park to face Bechem United in a week four encounter, a fixture that looks mountainous as the Hunters will look to claw their first three points in the league.

However Karim, who joined the millennium champions in August, believes they will sell out a good game that will earn them all three points.

“We are going to Bechem to give out some good football and we are not going for a draw or a loss but to win and so that fans should come in their numbers because we want to win. They should come and watch good football,” he concluded.
