Ghana Premier League: Hearts of Oak record slim win over Vision FC

Hearts of Oak produced a slightly encouraging performance to beat Vision FC by 1-0 in their week 12 Ghana Premier League fixture at the Legon Stadium on Saturday.

The Phobians were slightly the dominant side in the opening ten minutes of the game but created minimal goal scoring chances.

The next quarter of the first department of the match will see Hearts of Oak come close with Hamza Issah and Kelvin Osei Asibey but Vision FC cleared their lines resolutely.

Vision however managed to unlock Hearts of Oak’s tactics in the dying embers of the first half, but they could not convert two clear chances that came their way with Mawuli Wayo sending Hearts of Oak ahead in the 41st minute with a connecting header.

Both teams returned for the second half much energized but they lacked the cutting edge in front of goal.

George Paaku drove a longer ranger however Vision FC keeper Godwin Ametefe parried the ball over the line for Hearts of Oak’s corner which failed to yield any meaningful result in the 50th minute.

Vision FC nearly snatched the equalizer in the hour mark with their effort hitting the upright much to the relief of Hearts of Oak. Goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi rescued a very scary moment for Hearts of Oak when Vision made a threatening incursion into the area in the 72nd minute.

Substitute Frank Duku nearly increased the score line for Hearts of Oak when his effort missed the post by inches in the 79th minute.

Hearts of Oak managed to hold on to the slim 1-0 victory, their first in three matches. They will now move to 21 points in 12 matches and 4th on the league table.
