Ghana Premier League: Hohoe United sign former Guinea CHAN captain

Ghana Premier League club Hohoe United have signed experienced Guinean defender Mohamed Yorobo Bangoura to help strengthen their backline.


The 29-year-old officially joined the newly promoted club on Wednesday, becoming the second signing for the side after veteran forward Lawson Bekui agreed a deal last week. He agreed a one-year contract with an option to renew at the end 0f the ongoing 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

Prior to joining Hohoe United, the left back spent over a decade in the Guinean top flight playing for clubs like ASM Sangaredi, Satellites FC, Kaloum Stars, Horoya AC, Santoba, CI Kamsar, Teungueth and Milo FC.

A statement on the club’s social media handles read: “Hohoe United Football Club is delighted to officially unveil Mohamed Yorobo Bangoura as the newest addition to the club,” the statement said.

“A player of pedigree, the Left-back has featured for ASM Sangaredi, AS Kaloum, and Horoya AC, and proudly served as 2025 CHAN Captain for Guinea.”

Bangoura served as the captain of Guinea’s domestic-based men’s national team and last played for Milo FC before joining Hohoe United following the expiration of his contract.
