Head coach of Hohoe United, Tijani Abdul Rahim Bashiru has said that, their opening game against Hearts of Oak will spur them on to their second fixture of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League at the Hohoe Stadium.
The newly promoted club held Hearts of Oak to a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium in match day one – a game that surprised many football pundits in Ghana.
Hohoe United put up a spirited performance in ZONE III qualifying at the expense of experienced former top flight campaigners, Great Olympics and Okwawu United.
Coach Bashiru, who took charge of the club before the start of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign spoke after their goalless draw against Hearts of Oak in the week 1 fixture in Accra.
“We are going to prepare for that game as well [because] if we are able to pick one point here [against Hearts of Oak], then at home we have to try as much as possible to pick the three points.
Hohoe United will now open their home campaign against Young Apostles on Saturday, September 21 at 3:00GMT, a game they will look to win to record a one hundred percent record.
