Asante Kotoko fought from a goal down to draw 1-1 against Aduana FC at the Baba Yara Stadium in a week 10 Ghana Premier League fixture on Sunday.
Aduana posted a first half performance slightly above Asante Kotoko and it did not take longer for them to find the opener.
Emmanuel Marfo scored just in the fourth minute after Aziz Dari fluffed Seidu Saana’s ferocious strike outside Kotoko’s penalty box.
Aduana continued to push for more goals and Mezack Afriyie leapt higher to head towards goal a corner kick but Kotoko keeper Aziz Dari came up with a stupendous save to deny the visitors from increasing the tally in the 19th minute.
Aduana came up with two clear scoring chances within a space of two minutes however Seidu Saana and Emmanuel Marfo’s efforts went wide off the bar in the 35th minute.
Kotoko came out of their shells briefly when Samba O’Neil blasted wide Morifing Donzo’s low pass in the 42nd minute.
Lord Amoah equalized for Kotoko when he rattled the net from a poor Aduana clearance with just a minute to end the first half.
Asante Kotoko doubled their efforts in the second half, coming close to finding the lead a number of times but Aduana remained resolute at the back.
Kotoko brought on striker Kwame Opoku in place of Saaka Dauda in the 67th minute in search of more goals but struggled to fin the back of the net.
Aduana however regained control of the game briefly with quick breaks at the flanks but Kotoko kept their lines clean.
The spoils were shared between Kotoko and Aduana following the final whistle, with the Porcupine Warriors still remaining the only side yet to taste defeat in this campaign.
Aduana move into third on the league table with 20 points while Kotoko climbed into sixth on 16 points 8 matches and two outstanding games to clear.
