Ghana Premier League: Kotoko coach Ogum urges focus for remaining games

Asante Kotoko will look to dust themselves off the heavy defeat against Accra Lions in a week 22 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.


The Porcupine Warriors succumbed to a more purposeful Accra Lions by 3-0 in the outstanding game much to the surprise of the club’s following. The record Ghana Premier League holders will return to the Baba Yara Stadium against rivals and title contenders, Nations FC in a top week 28 clash.


Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum has said that, despite the loss against Accra Lions, there is still a chance to grab more points and eventually win the league title. “There are some games to go. You will never know what will happen. The game is full of surprises. We have to put ourselves together mentally. Seven more games to go, you never know what will happen.


“I think the key thing now is our mental toughness. We have to put ourselves together mentally,” said Ogum.


The two time continental champions dropped to 3rd on the league table with 47 points, one behind second placed Nations FC and three away from leaders, Gold Stars.
