Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have rung changes to their technical department after the sacking of coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.
The club officially announced the reshuffle with a statement on their social media page. In a statement released by the two time African champions on Tuesday, former player and coach of the side, Abdul Karim Zito has been appointed as the new technical director and he will double as interim coach until a substantive trainer is named.
Karim Zito returns to the Porcupine Warriors with a rich experience having led Dreams FC to a first ever semi-final in the CAF Confederation Cup and previously guiding Ghana’s U-20 team to glory at the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania.
Karim Zito will be joined on the technical bench by experienced trainer, Prince Yaw Owusu, who takes up the role of assistant coach. Owusu’s previous coaching stints include an assistant role under Kwesi Appiah at Al Khartoum of Sudan, Medeama SC, Inter Allies, and the national team U-20 assistant role.
The Porcupine Warriors meanwhile have maintained experienced Malik Jabir who transitions into the role of Technical Advisor. Jabir, a former Kotoko great and one-time technical director, will now provide strategic oversight to aid the club’s long-term ambitions.
