Ghana Premier League: “Losing to Kotoko was a bitter pill to swallow” – Samuel Boadu

Head coach of Berekum Chelsea, Samuel Boadu has been left disappointed following their slim home loss to Kotoko in the opener of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.

The “Bibires” came out tough against the FA Cup champions but relinquished their resolve to lose by 1-0 courtesy Albert Amoah’s 80th minute strike.

Defeat bitter pill to take

Samuel Boadu admits that, the loss was a bitter pill to take at the Golden City Park.

“We dominated the first half and we should have taken our chances but it was quite unfortunate we wasted all those chances,” said Boadu.

“The manner in which we conceded the goal is very painful and very bad for us.”

The loss meant that Berekum Chelsea’s 15-year record of beating Kotoko at the Golden City Park has been broken.
