The two teams came to the party with a lot of energy and physicality displayed by both sides.
It was Nations FC who sprang out of the blue to score the opener. A perfect cross in the 22nd minute by Prince Botchway saw Joseph Effah leap above Aduana defenders to head home past Prince Osei in the visitors’ goal.
Emmanuel Marfo came a whisker to equalizing for Aduana but his effort was smothered by Nations FC goalkeeper Rabin Sanon with three minutes to end the first half. The opening half ended with Nations FC walking into the dressing room with a 1-0 lead.

Nations started the second half swiftly with Abdela Mashud and Aryeetey Ayikwei tormenting the Aduana backline. Aduana recovered momentarily from Nations’ torment but Marfo’s effort did not trouble Sanon.
The hosts, however, held their guns to keep the three points and will move into 11th with 24 points from 19 games.
On Saturday, Medeama extended their lead to seven points following a 2-1 comeback win at Vision FC. Reigning champions GoldStars were held to the goalless draw by Asante Kotoko on Saturday with Hearts of Oak selling out a goalless draw at home to Dreams FC.
Heart of Lions recorded their first ever victory in eight matches after beating Eleven Wonders 1-0.

Nations 1-0 Aduana FC
Both teams entered the contest with high intensity, setting the tone for a physical and competitive encounter. Aduana FC, buoyed by their pedigree and home advantage, attempted to impose themselves early, but Nations FC matched them stride for stride, pressing aggressively and contesting every ball.
The visitors looked particularly dangerous down the flanks, using quick transitions and well-timed runs to stretch Aduana’s backline. That enterprise paid off midway through the first half.
The breakthrough arrived in the 22nd minute, courtesy of a moment of quality and determination. Prince Botchway delivered an inch-perfect cross from the right, and Joseph Effah rose highest inside the box to power a header beyond goalkeeper Prince Osei, silencing the stadium and giving Nations FC a precious lead.
It was Effah’s movement and aerial prowess that caught Aduana’s defenders flat-footed, highlighting the visitors’ superior sharpness in key moments.
Stung by the setback, Aduana FC gradually increased the pressure as halftime approached. Their best chance came through Emmanuel Marfo, whose close-range effort looked destined for the back of the net before Nations FC goalkeeper Rabin Sanon produced a superb reflex save to keep his side ahead.
That intervention proved crucial, as Nations FC headed into the break with their narrow advantage intact, buoyed by disciplined defending and composure under pressure.
Nations FC began the second half on the front foot, showing no intention of merely defending their lead. Abdela Mashud and Aryeetey Ayikwei caused persistent problems for Aduana’s defence with their pace and direct running, forcing the hosts to remain cautious.
