Nations FC’s quest to go top of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League table will be put to a stern test when they host Asante Kotoko in Week 28.
The Abrankese based club welcome the record Premier League holders in a top liner at the Dr. Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday, April 20 with both clubs hunting for three points to keep their title chase alive.
Nations FC coach Kasim Ocansey Mingle has spoken highly ahead of their game against the Porcupine Warriors.
“Kotoko is coming to play in Kumasi after losing to Accra Lions. They (Kotoko) are our senior brothers and here (Abrankese) is their home, so it will be a difficult game but we want to build on our current form and results. It will not be easy but the better side will win,” Mingle told Akoma FC.
“Albert Amoah and co all played in the first leg, and we won. They are players and we have comparable players here too, so we don't fear any player at Kotoko. Kotoko have more mature players than my team but it is football, and as I always say the better side will win," added Mingle.
Kotoko succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to Accra Lions in an outstanding week 22 fixture, dropping from the top spot to third place on 47 points after 27 matches with Nations FC moving to the second spot on 48 points.
