Asante Kotoko defender, Samba O’Neil has assured the club’s fans of better results in subsequent matches after their 2-0 win at Eleven Wonders in week 15 of the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.
Kotoko brushed aside the strugglers with a goal in each half by Peter Amidu Acquah and substitute Johnson Owusu, pushing them into the top two on the standings.
O’Neil, who was adjudged Man-of-the-Match opened up on the toughness of the game and the need to fight hard to win subsequent matches.
Asante Kotoko and Medeama share the second position
“I keep saying [that] Ghana Premier League is not easy and especially playing here at the Legon Park [and] I think some few months ago we played the Top Four here [and] we lost all our matches so it’s not easy, winning here is very important for us,” Samba O’Neil said.
“The league is still long so we keep working hard and so I will keep telling them [fans] to come in their numbers they have been doing all the time to support us, we are going to work in every match to give them a win.”
Samba O’Neil has been a key figure in the Asante Kotoko squad, playing 13 matches with three goals as the record Ghana Premier League holders share the second spot with Medeama on 27 points, one behind leaders after 15 games.
