Ghana midfielder, Richmond Lamptey has ended his tenure with Rwanda topflight club, APR FC just a year into his two year deal.
The former Asante Kotoko midfielder has now joined Libyan outfit, Al Ittihad Misurata SC in a one-year deal ahead of next season’s campaign.
The lanky midfielder joined APR FC last year in a two-year contract reported to be in the region of US$ 150,000 from the Porcupine Warriors, however he failed to find his feet, managing just eight games for the Kigali based club without scoring a goal.
His move to Libya provides an opportunity for more playing time and APR FC announced the departure of the former Ghana Premier League campaigner via their social media page.
”Thank you, Lamptey Richmond. We appreciate your time, effort, and commitment to APR FC. Best of luck on your next journey,” APR confirmed his transfer in a statement.
Lamptey was a member of Ghana’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations squad but never made it in the match day squad under coach Otto Addo.
Richmond Lamptey previously played for Ghana sides, WAFA, Inter Allies, Lebanese side Salam Zgharta and Asante Kotoko before moving to Rwanda.
