Medeama SC midfielder Salim Adams has ruled out any form of pressure ahead of meeting his former club Hearts of Oak in week 17 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The Mauve and Yellow returned to the summit of the league log after holding GoldStars to a goalless draw at the Duns Park in a delayed week 14 fixture on Wednesday.
The two time FA Cup winners have recorded three home victories over Hearts of Oak in the last five season clashes and their lead will be tested by the Phobians who are chasing their first title since the 2020/21 campaign.
Salim Adams enjoyed a fruitful season with Hearts of Oak, lifting the league and the FA Cup titles under coach Samuel Boadu.
The 23-year-old expressed confidence ahead of the clash at the Tarkwa TnA Park
“There is no pressure just meeting old friends. I am well motivated [to face them] because of the squad we have and the quality we have so there is no pressure on us,” Salim Adams told MEDi TV.
Medeama have chalked an impressive record of 13 matches without a loss as they target their second top flight title.
Salim Adams has played ten games with one goal to credit as Medeama sit top of the standings with 31 points from 16 games. They are one point above second place Asante Kotoko and two away from holders GoldStars and former champions Aduana with Hearts of Oak sitting 5th on 28 points.
