Gold Stars will look to build on their 1-0 home win over Aduana last week ahead of their trip to Samartex in week 13 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The reigning champions faced challenges after their exit from the CAF Champions League preliminary round but they have managed to regain their mojo, going on to chalk 22 points in fourth spot on the league standings.
Ahead of the journey to Samartex, Gold Stars goalkeeper, Emmanuel Kobi has analyzed the team’s readiness for the encounter at the Nsenkyire Arena.
“We are going there with a different mentality because they are also a strong side at home and so we are also prepared for that game,” Emmanuel Kobi told GoldStars TV.
“We have to put in a lot of effort to be able to claim all three points. We face challenges from the start of the season and we are now resolving it and we have played 12 matches with five clean sheets so everything will be fine.
Gold Stars won their debut Ghana Premier League title last season but they failed to shine in the continental campaign, suffering a 7-0 aggregate loss against Algeria’s JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League.
Their 22 points haul keeps them one point behind joint leaders, Aduana, Medeama and Heart of Lions and one above record holders Asante Kotoko after 12 matches.
