French Ligue 1 club FC Metz has officially announced the signing of Ghanaian international Terry Yegbe for the ongoing season, and the defender has already set his sights on achieving success with his new team.

The sturdy centre-back has signed a four-year deal that will keep him at the club until June 2029. The 24-year-old arrives at the club from Swedish top-flight outfit IF Elfsborg – a side he joined in February 2024.

Yegbe spoke after signing the deal on Saturday: “I’m very happy to be here, I can’t wait to play and meet the whole team.

“I would like to thank my agents, all the people who support me, and of course FC Metz for their trust.” He said.

Yegbe previously played in Ghana with Vision FC.

He began his European career in 2022 with a loan move to Finnish side SJK Seinajoki before a switch to Sweden with Elfsborg.

His sterling performance earned him a debut call up to the Ghana national team in November 2024. He has featured for Ghana’s U-23 side, the Black Meteors.
