Ghanaian Jalal Abdullai struck twice to guide Molde FK to a 4-0 victory over Rana FC in a Norwegian Cup third-round match on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

The young forward, who is on loan from another Norwegian side, IF Elfsoborg, had replaced Mads Enggard late in the first half while Molde FK led 1-0 courtesy of Eirik Hestad. He made an impact in the second half.

Abdullai had started the game from the bench alongside Burundi-born Norwegian defender Favier Ndayizeye, while South Africa’s Bafana Bafana defender Samukele Kabini retained his place in the starting line-up.

The 20-year-old scored his opener three minutes into the second half before adding his second goal of the evening in the 53rd minute. Magnus Eikrem sealed the win with a late goal in injury time.

Meanwhile, Molde will now meet Kristiansund in the Norwegian Cup fourth round with the first leg scheduled for May 21, 2025. However, Molde indicated that the fixtures might be changed due to congestion.

“The fourth round is currently scheduled for Wednesday, May 21, but there may be changes. Kristiansund will also be at Aker Stadion in the magnificent May 16 match. This means the teams will meet twice in just one week,”
