Nigeria international Gift Orban continued with his goal scoring form after he helped TSG 1899 Hoffenheim defeat Werder Bremen 3-1 in a Bundesliga fixture at Weserstadion on Sunday.
It was the home side, who took a deserved lead against the run of play and with only seven minutes played when Hoffenheim defender Stanley Nsoki scored into his own while trying to clear a dangerous cross from the right wing.
However, Anton Stach levelled matters for Hoffenheim when he drilled home from outside the box before Tom Bischof put them 2-1 ahead in the game, finishing off a neat cross from Stach.
Hoffenheim went into the half-time break with a 2-1 cushion and at the start of the second period they continued to search for more goals. Orban, who joined Hoffenheim on January 2, 2025 after leaving French Ligue 1 outfit Lyon, then inscribed his name in the scorers list with a goal in the 63rd minute.
In total, Orban has scored three Bundesliga goals in the current campaign and has only been booked once. A first goal of the league campaign for Orban came against Eintracht Frankfurt in a 2-2 draw on January 26.
The Super Eagle played 13 Ligue 1 games last season for Lyon and scored one goal. Next up in the league for Hoffenheim and Orban is a home match against Stuttgart on February 23.
