Gift Orban recorded his second Serie A goal as Hellas Verona played out a 2-2 draw against Cagliari at Marcantonio Bentegodi stadium on Sunday.
The hosts opened the score sheet through a Roberto Gagliardini header in the 23rd minute. The home side then pressed home their advantage after the halftime break with Orban’s precise right-footed strike in the 59th minute from inside the penalty area from Giovane’s cross. The Nigerian striker’s second goal of the season was confirmed following a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review.
However, Cagliari bounced back with goals from Riyad Idrissi and Mattia Felici in the 77th minute and 90+2 minute respectively, leaving the match to end in a 2-2 draw.
The draw means I Gialloblù are still in search of their first victory in the league and sit just outside the relegation zone with five points from eight games.
