Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo has revealed his delight after recovering from injury and starting training with Turkish Super Lig side Kasimpasa.

The Super Eagle picked an injury during Kasimpasa’s thrilling 3-3 draw against Galatasaray last October and he has gone ahead to miss nine league matches of the current campaign.

The centre-back has confirmed his return from the long layoff in a post on his social media pages: “It’s been a difficult few months. Glad to be running again.. can’t wait to start helping my team again.. I have missed it,” he wrote.

Before the injury setback, Omeruo had made only five appearances for Kasimpasa and was yet to score a goal. Last season, he featured 24 times for Kasimpasa, scoring one goal in the process.

Before moving to Turkey, Omeruo features for Leganese in Spain’s Segunda Division. In the 2020/2021 campaign, he managed 25 appearances overall and accumulating 2,004 minutes of playing time.

He started in 24 of these appearances across their 44 fixtures and been used as a substitute on one occasion. He opened his account for the campaign against Almería on February 17, scoring during a 2-1 victory.
