Danish coach Jess Thorup has announced Al Ahly’s 20-man squad for their second-leg encounter against Burundi’s Aigle Noir Makamba in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round.
The match is set to take place on Saturday evening at Cairo International Stadium, as part of the second leg of the Round of 32. The Egyptian giants enter the game with a strong advantage, having secured a 1-0 away victory in the first leg, putting one foot into the group stage.
The squad witnessed some notable absences, most prominently team captain and first-choice goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy, who has been granted rest. Ashraf Dari, Hussein El Shahat, Mohamed Sherif, and Emam Ashour also remain sidelined due to injury.

Forwards: Nejc Gradisar – Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” – Ahmed Abdelkader – Achraf Bencharki – Ahmed Sayed “Zizo” – Taher Mohamed Taher.
Al Ahly will look to seal their qualification to the group stage in front of their home fans in Cairo without their captain Mohamed El Shenawy.
